ebookers.com APP Discount

I was searching for a discount code for my upcoming trip to Bangkok later this month (April) and found this website that could give me 15% discount off for Amari Watergate hotel. This discount code should work for many other hotels too, but the only catch is you have to use their app to make the purchase.

Site: ebookers.com
Discount code: APP15 or CITY15
Discount given: 15%
Expiry: Unknown

Remember to download the app on your mobile device as it will give you a better deal. Also, the price quoted is in British Pounds which doesn't really matter as it is still cheaper overall. This website is legit as I receive confirmation from the hotel itself that they received the booking.

So a bit on what I paid. I booked Amari Watergate hotel for 3 nights at £132.26 after discount, this is equivalent to S$277.94 or S$92.65 per night. I tried finding a better price else where like hotels.com, expedia.com.sg, hotelclub.com and many more but it all added up to around S$340 and even with a 10% discount (the max I could find) it will be around S$310.

I will be posting details on Amari Watergate and more about the trip later on. Meanwhile, do give this site a try and you may find a good deal for your holiday!

Fuji Japanese Restaurant

This is one of the restaurants that I always visit whenever I visit Thailand. Though it's not the very best Japanese food you can have, the food served are quite good and cheap too. They have many branches all around Thailand and it's quite difficult to not find one in Bangkok. If you're on a tight budget, Fuji Japanese restaurant in Thailand is one that would be friendly to your wallet.

Fuji Steak

Pork roll with mushroom and cheese in the middle

 Cha Soba (Cold noodles)

Grilled Squid

Of all the dishes, the first dish is my favorite and it's the one dish that will be ordered every time I go. The meat is always cooked to perfection with the middle still being slightly pink. All in all my meal there for 2 person cost around 650 baht (approx. S$26).

Upcoming Trip to Bangkok

So I have been thinking of travelling to Bangkok this coming December and thought that I will not be able to find a good deal. And amazingly I did find one. Though it is not the cheapest I think I can get to go Bangkok but it is considered quite cheap cause it's December. So here are the details of my trip for my trip to Bangkok for 6 days 5 night from 15 December to 20 December 2013:

All price is for 2 pax.

Flight: $372.53 + $40 (baggage)
Hotel: $483.43
Total: $895.96

Per Person: $447.98

Flight by Jetstar $372.53 for the earliest flight out of Singapore (3K511) and latest flight back from Bangkok (3K514). Oh and I also added $40 for baggage for 25kg each way. I used the Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee against Tiger Air which had a cheaper price, and I got my flight for 10% cheaper than Tiger Air.

My hotel was booked through zuji.com.sg and it cost me $483.43. The price I got was after applying a 12% discount code which I mention in my previous post. I used zuji.com.sg Top Secret hotel deal which was already very cheap considering I got Amari Watergate and applied the discount code (SGZUJI12) to it, usual price without the Top Secret hotel deal was around $661.87, with the Top Secret deal is $549.35. I saved roughly $66 by applying the discount code.

Bangkok!

Bangkok has always been the place to go for shopping. If you love buying things from blogshops, you'll realise that most blogshops get their products from Thailand. You can find almost everything that are sold on blogshop at Bangkok's Platinum Mall less than half the price. Everything in Bangkok is just cheap cheap cheap.

I made a booking for a 6 day 5 nights trip to Bangkok and I must say it is one of the cheapest flight + hotel package. My flight was on AirAsia and the hotel in Bangkok is Amari Watergate (5 star hotel) booked on Expedia.com.sg. The service at Amari Watergate is one of the best I have experienced, everyone from the front desk to house keeping are friendly and helpful.

So here's the break down of the cost for 2 person:
 - Hotel + Flight: $677.01
(breakdown given by Expedia ($290 for flight + $387.01 hotel)
    Per night in hotel: $77.40
- Add ons  for AirAsia: $68
   (2 x 15kg departure + 2  x 20kg return + pick a seat for both departure and return)
- NTUC Travel Insurance: $52

Total Price: $797.01
Total Price Per Pax: $398.51

My flight details on AirAsia:
Departure - FD3502 Singapore to Bangkok (10:55am to 12:15pm)
Return - FD2509 Bangkok to Singapore (6:30pm to 9.40pm)

Phuket!

Many Singaporeans flock to Phuket every year for a quick getaway. In Phuket you could many outdoor activities like snorkeling, island hopping, white water rafting, ATV and more! I'll do a short breakdown of my trip and a quick review on everything. I went there for 5D4N and stayed at Metadee Resort and Villas which is really good. There's no point paying more for the pool access rooms cause the deluxe pool view rooms are just as great. Rooms are huge and there's also a separate bathtub and shower.

I had my 2 tours and airport transfer booked through Mr. Mark tours. He's got quite a good reputation with many Singaporean travelers and is definitely trustworthy. I did the elephant trekking, white water rafting and ATV tour and the Phi Phi Island tour. Both tours is a must try if you ever visit Phuket.

So here's the breakdown of the costs:

Airfare (Jetstar): S$126.65 per pax
Accommodation (Metadee): S$79.90 per night
Insurance for 5 days: S$25.00
Total for 2 person for 5D4N: $311.45

Mr. Mark Tours
Return airport transfer: 1200 baht (he does one way for 600 baht)
Phi Phi Island tour by speedboat: 1200 baht per pax
Elephant trekking, white water rafting, ATV: 1900 baht per pax

If you need his contact just leave me a comment with your email and I'll get back to you.
